    No, they usually do not eat plants. That doesn't look like a betta's bite mark.

    What could have caused it? (I did acidently scootch it yesterday but not enough to do that)

    I watched one of my sister's bettas eat part of an Amazon sword, so maybe? It went after the roots first, it was just a teeny baby and it ate all the exposed roots (there were a lot) then moved on to the leaves
