Did I reset my cycle?

Yesterday I did a water change of about 40%. Today my nitrate and nitrite appear to be just slightly over 0 ppm and ammonia is 0. PH is 7.5

Did you clean your filter media? Did you treat with Prime or Safe? How long have you been cycled? Do you have live plants?

I did not clean the filter, yes I have plants, and my tank was on the nitrite portion of its cycle when this happened. I treated the water with stress coat

Hang on ... was thinking of a different thread

Ok seems like you weren't fully cycled. When nitrites get to zero and you have some nitrates you are fully cycled. Do you have fish in the tank? Do you use Prime to neutralize the ammonia and nitrites? Are you using a bacteria supplement to help the cycle get established?

Well the reason I was worried was because it appeared that nitrates were at 0 but I will go test again and see what happens. I have fish and snails but no bacteria or prime

If you still have nitrites you aren't cycled and need Prime to neutralize this so it doesn't harm the fish or snails. If you have few nitrates the plants and water changes can remove those. But it shouldn't reset the cycle. The nitrates happen when the nitrites are processed by the bacteria.
