Did I Potentially Harm My Fish?

20 gallon aquarium with some fish with damaged fins. I am quite impulsive to the point "oh it says I can use this" *uses it.. apI freshwater aquarium salt. said to help the healing process of fish. I have 3 corys. 3 neons, 3 cardinals, a black skirt, and 3 other fish I'm not familiar with yet(they were given to me) I added the dosage it suggested for a 20 gallon tank. but aside from what it said on the box I wanted to ask the pros to sate my paranoia =)

It will likely harm the corydoras. They are scaleless and don't cope well with a lot of dissolved solids

that's unfortunate. well hopefully they won't die or anything by next week. cuz that is when I should be getting help to set up my 29 gallon. and I'm assuming the salt will stay at the bottom of the old tank

What do you mean it will stay at the bottom of the tank?

I'd recommend doing a large water change right now to get rid of as much dissolved salt as possible.

Do a water change, salt has to be dissolved in water before adding it to a tank, otherwise it will burn fish

Did you dissolve it beforehand or dumpt the salt crystals in?
Either way, you should do a water change for the sake of your cories

I didnt disolve them. the box doesn't even say that. I guess they don't know very much either. sadly ive out of freshwater . all I have is my tap water with ammonia in it and I would rater pass on that issue again. my only hope is that they survive long enough for my friend to bring over the 30 gallons of water I need for the new tank and put them in there T_T hopefully luck is on my side for once. I did have a gallon of water left though.. don't know if that would do much , but I used it anyway

Lol, I could go into a giant rant about what companies don't put on their product that are super necessary... It's really not fair to the consumers.
I hope all goes well for you, try not to worry too much
