Dense fluffy algae...

Hi All,

Im struggling to determine the type of Algae... It seems so dense and yet has a fluffy look to it. Only growing on an artificial rock. Has a purple / red hue but guessing thats due to the colour temp of my grow light.

Appreciate your thoughts....

 

It kind of looks like Black Beard Algae. I have been trying to find a pick that somewhat resembles yours though.

 

I agree, I think it looks like black beard algae (BBA).

 

Thank you both for your thoughts. I had a feeling it could be BBA but like you said StarGirl, no pics online that looks like mine!!

 

It could just look different depending on what its growing on? IDK lol.
