Deep Blue Cube

So there is a Deep blue cube tank near me and it’s a 35 gallon. The dimensions are 20x20x20. Does that limit my stocking options? I wanted a clown, a goby, a wrasse and a firefish. Would this be possible in this tank? Or should I wait and get a 20 long sometime?

20 inches is pretty tall, but its a gorgeous tank. The wrasse might be a bit iffy, but if you got a nano wrasse I'd say it'd fit. WHat kind of deal are you getting on it?

I think I was wanting a 6 lined wrasse? Or something similar.

He’s asking $100 for the tank, stand, and sand. He has a bunch of other stuff so I think I could get him to add in some more

Agreed, the stocking would be fine, though the wrasse may be iffy. Sideways swim room offers more territory, but the extra water volume is nice. So... I might go for it, add the wrasse last, and make sure I could return him if he was a b-hole in the shorter tank. I will say, I have seen successful cubes with larger fish, though I assume these tanks are 40's or 60's.

The other reservation I'd have would be that a deeper tank requires better lighting. However, if you're planning on going with a good light anyway, say an AI Prime HD, then it wouldn't be a problem. I also highly recommend that new reefers start with a good light. It's a worse kick in the wallet when you buy a budget setup, aren't happy with it, then buy a better light, so lighting is paid for twice in the end. I did that ... the budget light wasn't all that cheap in the first place, and I honestly view this as the worst mistake I've made in reefing.

My betta tank is a 7.5g Deep Blue cube. They aren't the best to be honest. The silicone is a little sloppy, but hey, I love my little cube.

I was wrong, a pink streaked wrasse is the one I was wanting.

I do remember hearing that deep blue wasn’t the best brand, but I love the cube tanks!

Do you think $100 is a good deal for this? Or do you think I could get something similar for cheaper?

This is what he said. It has a 5 gallon Refugium included in the $100. “dry sand. All testers for basic and corals, feeder tube ,reef octopus protien skimmer, 50 pounds dry rock, some chemicals and medicines, JBJ refugium light . $200 will take all. $1000 worth of stuff” along with buckets, an extra pump and heaters. Which I would 100% get new heaters anyway

Rimless? Is the fuge HOB or sump? How much dry sand? Ask him what test kits he has, what size/version the skimmer is, what chem and meds, and make sure there's no scratches. I'd ask him that through text, the if you like what you hear go visit it prepared to pick it up, but also completely prepared to walk away. You could probably get a better deal. Yes I kow its a bit nitpicky but you want to make sure you're getting what you wat.

I'd say a pink streaked should work.

Paid $50 the tank alone, including shipping... So, yeah.
