My these past few weeks my 10 yr old Akita MiyukI has arthritis. We have been encouraging her to walk, and giving her the prescribed med.
That poor little dog didnt get to be socialized since she was a pup. She was my uncle's pup and as much as that uncle is my favorite, he didnt properly take care of the,. Ot was always the household , either help or the family, who would take care of her. He was owner by name, but not by care. When she was scratched in the eye by a cat, she started to kill every last one that came her way.She was caged up for 4 yrs, then when I g ot my russell terrier who I won't repeat his story as I cry whenever I mention him, she got a chance to be out of the cage. After Monty the russell terrier left she was still outside the cage, but....alone. That was around 2011 to, the late 2013. To prove myself worthy of taking care of a dog, I took on MiyukI as my own. After Monty I didnt want another dog as it gave me so much memories, but I just really lobed these fur balls. MiyukI was my pet. I fed her, gave her a bath. Spent time with her, gave her water . She is the reason I even got my Teeker dog. Had it not been for MiyukI I may not even have my Choco lab Teeker. Fast forward a couple stray cat deaths, limp legs , tick infestations and a bunch Teeker play fights, she now has Arthritis. She can't move much and the only thing that drives her to stamd is to poop, pee, eat and walk. But she can't even walk far because ot would be bad for her.
Now she is getting better, and quite active. Still has arthritis, lying down all day but now she stands up fro no reason, or maybe to bark at a cat on our wall.
