Dark shadow inside Balloon Molly

Hi,

We purchased a balloon molly about 2 weeks ago and have notice that there is a dark shadow inside. She is pretty chilled out but active and eats well at feeding time except for a couple of days now she has been ramming into the other balloon mollies, none of which are males. I haven’t noticed it or been able to see it on my other lighter balloon molly in the tank.

I definitely know she female and I’m not assuming she has babies inside but I’m just wondering if this is normal?

I think babies would be a safe bet. It's harder to tell if a balloon molly is pregnant because of their already extended belly

Well, with light colored balloon mollies, the guts or a pregnancy can shine through the skin. I wouldn't be worried about it.

She is pregnant, pregnant females get aggressive to protect their babies.

"Yes" and "no"...
It really depends on the individual fish wether she becomes protective or not.
