Danio commited suicide

I know it is silly for some, but I grieving over the fact that my danio just died. This morning I saw him I thought it was a little piece of driftwood that fell and then I looked a little closer and it was one of them. I had 5, but now I am down to 4. I don't even know how he got out... The lid wasn't on fully and I regret that so much because he wouldn't have gotten out. I just don't know what to do with the rest of the 4 danios. Do I get another one?

Just tested it. This is just so difficult I don't even know if my ammonia is 0 or .25 its so hard to tell.... My nitrite is 0 and my nitrate is 10

I always cover all the holes of my tanks for the bettas because one jumped out and was a crisp when I found it

Because of that one betta, I start to worry when I can't find a fish in a tank. They're usually under something though

Thank you it just sucks it had to happen... But since they have to be in groups of 5/6 should I buy a new one or should I not bother? They still seem to be grouping with just 4

 

I would increase your school to 8-10 if you have the room. They're stressed and nippy in small schools. What else do you have in the tank?

Well I do have a 20 gallon tall with plants and 2 big rocks. I now have:
1 betta
2 snails
4 pearl danios
