Cycling new tank with mature media

If I take media from my mature 60 gallon and add it to the filter of my new 29 will it need to cycle as long?? Or even at all??

 

Nope it should be good to go within a week. Just check the parameters.

Sweet! Thanks for the help, also there isn't any harm in over filtration is there? I have two 30 gallon over the back filters on my 29

 

No not unless your fish don't like the current

 

Depends on how much media you're adding to the new tank and what fish you're adding at the same time.
