Oh ok great, thank you. I’m glad that he’ll be able to be in the 5.5 gallon before I leave.That should work fine if it is cycled. Before you go I would pit the betta, 2.5 gallon filter and 5 gallon filter all in the 5 gallon tank. The 2.5 gallon filter should keep the betta safe and the betta will provide ammonia to help the 5 gallon filter cycle.
the water won’t do anything for you, it has virtually no bacteria, it’s almost all in the filter.Problem solved! Can’t believe I didn’t think of this... I added most of the water from my fully cycled 29 gallon tank that’s has been established for a few months. My betta loves his new home! Thanks guys
