I've been trying to cycle a 5.5 gallon tank for around 2 to 2 and a half months now. I had an ammonia reading of 8ppm for about a week and a half straight and changed the water and got it down to around 6ppm. I decided to buy some precycled filter media from my LFS and I got a new filter and set it up with the media. It's the next day and my ammonia is between 4-6ppm, nitrite is between 2-5ppm, and nitrates are at around 10-20ppm. Do I still keep adding ammonia? Does the cycle seem like it's coming towards the end stage? I get really confused and frustrated when cycling tanks so any help with what I should be doing next would be really appreciated!

keep ammonia at 2ppm.

once the ammonia and nitrite goes to 0, do a large 75% water change. dose 2ppm ammonia, test after 24hrs. if the ammonia and nitrite are both 0, then you're cycled. and can start stocking.
