Cycle Question Question

I'm cycling a couple of tanks with pure ammonia, but my question is how long can then be empty after they're cycled?
Can I add a drop of ammonia every day/every other day to feed the bacteria until I get the fish?
One tank I want to buy a betta from a breeder but they wont be ready for another month. I have maybe a week or two left on cycling (rn if i add 2ppm ammonia, it's down to 1 ppm the next day, with minor nitrite readings and has been doing that for the last 3 days).
Just want to know if I should put a fish in immediately after its cycled or if there's something I can do to keep the cycle going until the fish are ready to go to new homes?

supposedly BB can live for weeks or months. But just to be safe you can dose ammonia once per week to keep them going.
