Current Eflux pump filter?

Seeing If I can get any ideas...
I have a Current Eflux DC water pump in my sump and I find that a lot of organic material settles to the bottom on the sump and then gets sucked back into the tank. I would like to make a filter sock to go over the basket (one thats thin enough not to restrict water flow but also catches debris). Right now I have a blue filter floss over it and it helps in catching the extra debris. But it doesn't really fit and it just laying over it.
Do they sell any socks that would fit?
I could make one myself and maybe I will but I feel people have done this before and would like to see ideas

I would find a way to limit debris getting into the sump. I would not recommend covering the pump filter basket with anything as it would become a maintenance nightmare and could harm the return pump. Clean out the sump and if you don't already, use a filter sock or some other means of filtering out debris before the return chamber. Just my opinion.

I do have a small hose for this, just to suck out all the extra waste that makes it past. Unfortunately my sump doesn't have an option for a sock (which is personally my favorite method, 2nd hand tank) so I just have my polishing filter floss and thicker floss on the drip tray and then a sponge inbetween the 2 sections. I still find a lot of debris is making it past all 3 filters.

Get an actual filter sock for the sump and it prevents it from building up in the sump. You can see the setup I have along with filter sock maintenance here that I do. Keeps my sump pretty clean. You just have to stay on top of the maintenance with them:

My sump isn't set up for a filter sock, I dont think if be able to add one ita a spray bar on top of a drip tray to the media

Maybe you could remove that filter media and replace the spray bar with a piece of straight pvc that empty's into a sock. Just an idea. You would definitely catch a lot more detritus. The sock could just lay in the tray in place of the filter matts that you have. If you cover the pump input, it will get covered in detritus very quickly and cause your pump to work harder and fail faster.

Agreed. The current sump setup is more ideally suited to a freshwater setup. A drawstring type sock would easily work with what you have mentioned (which is actually what I use).
