Curled And Torn Fins?

Bit of a backstory, got this guy a few months ago, he had severe popeye and finrot, the popeye seems to be completely gone only leaving a blind eye which seems to have scar tissue around it, and the finrot is healing. His tail is healing great but his dorsal fin is curled and his pectoral fins (dumbo ears) are still ripped and don't seem to be healing, one being sufficiently larger than the other, the smaller being torn a lot, and swimming seems to take more energy so he rest a lot more then a normal betta does, will his fins ever heal correctly/fully and how can I help them heal quicker besides more water changes? (Water changes stress him out a lot and only seem to make him sicker)

Water params? And it's likely the Popeye blinded him in the eye it was in. Other animals don't have scar tissue, just people, so it's not that. Likely cataracts

When a fish has or has had fin rot there fins don't usually look as pretty or as brightly colored once they start to grow back. Trying to keep the fish as stress free as possible is key while still making sure to be doing frequent water changes. You can try using stress guard during water changes and make sure to only be doing about a 25% water change each time. With the curling of the fins it may be one of two things damage of the fin due to the fin rot or your Betta may be a senior. As Bettas age a lot of times there fins will curl.

You could use some API Stress Coat Plus. It helps with torn fins and gets the slime coat generating. I’ve had great luck with that stuff and bettas. He’s gorgeous!!!!

Ps, I agree with the fact that when their tails start to grow back it takes a while for them to color up. In my experiences, when it starts to grow back it’s almost clear at first.

50% water change daily is your best bet mate

Also check the pH. Sometimes too high can cause curling in the fins.
