I bought a whole saltwater setup at a yard sale and it came with about 200lbs of live rock that has been setting in an empty plastic tub for years so it was totally dry and even what looked like dried up hair algae on it. I've looked all over trying to figure out how to bring it back and read that scrubbing it and soaking it in a mild bleach water will clean anything off it. So I have done this and now I have it rinsing in tab water in two tubs with the water circulating from one to the other. I am not sure where to go from here. I am sure it will seed if I throw some live rock in with it but I was wondering if there is a quicker way. I read something about putting a fresh dead shimp in the water and let it decompose but I was wondering if there some other way to bring life to dead rocks. Thanks.

seeding is the fastest way to cycle anything, and tossing in the extra shrimp will just feed it the ammonia it needs to get going.
