I bought this crypt about a month ago and it just said assorted crypt on the label. It melted then grew like this with the weird colour leaves. Anyone know what kind of plant it is and whether that colour is because it’s dying or is it just normally that colour? Thanks

Hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like wenditii bronze/brown. Usually, when crypts melt it means the new water/lighting they are in is too different than what they were used to previously, so they melt to grow different leaves better suited to their new environment. The same species of crypt can look very different in other settings.

Your crypts look alright to me, just make sure they aren’t too crowded. I don’t like having individual plants side by side as it slows the growth of both. If your plants are looking crowded then it’s good to thin them out and replant the little ones. If left in a big bunch they can choke each other out and may melt then too.

It was probably grown out of water and had emersed leaves, and now they're melting back so they can be replaced with underwater leaves.

Wendtii to me. Besides the bronze variaty it shows different leafshapes and color due to the light.
