    Hey guys,

I have crushed coral in my new 43g tank. I got it because it keeps the pH high for the cichlids. I haven't had to clean it yet, but when I need to, how do I clean it? With a siphon?

    Thanks,
    Jake

I think you just swish the siphon over the top of it :)

    Exactly like sand?

Yeah just use a siphon cleaner and only stir the top 1/2 inch of it to clean up. Best substrate i think personally. has that sand colouring but without all the hassle of actual sand.

Depending on your bioload and filter type, cleaning should only need to be done every other water change
