Crowntail betta more aggressive than other bettas?

Do you people think that the Crowntail is more aggressive than any other. It seems that both of my crowntails are more aggressive than the veiltail and roundtail.
Just wonderin?

 

Yes, I've noticed it too. I had two crowntails (only one left) and although both are very sweet to me they are more feisty and nip harder (playfully) than my veiltail. Niles, my veiltail is so gentle it's ridiculous! I think he could almost live with another male Betta, not that I'd try that!    When he nips it's SOOO soft and gentle it's like he has no teeth. Lava sticks to my finger sometimes like a pitbull!

 

Same thing with Cobalt. I had gotten another betta, a crowntail, and had his cup close to Cobalt's tank. Cobalt could care less, but Kronos was ready to tear him to shreds!

 

what about cambodians? do they seem to be calmer than other types of bettas?

really? we must've gotten a special one with our blue-eyed Sora. He's the least aggressive betta i've seen. he never flared, even when we had 6 cories in his tank temporarily or at a mirror one time when we tried it to see if he was capable of flaring. I finally found out recently that he will flare at my finger if I stick it in his tank without food on it at feeding time. I thought Cambodians must be calm because of him, but I guess he's just uncommon for a cambodian. he even got his name because of his eyes & temperment. that's cool to know, we love our little sweet Sora.

 

Ok, I didn't know what a Cambodian betta was... did some internet research, tell me if I am right. Pale or no color body with bright fins... if this is true then willow is a Cambodian Crowntail which would make her really agressive, which she is starting to show. I bet when she feels better she will be a little terror which will mean that she will need her own tank. Maybe I will take Willow to the office and bring Cobalt home.

Hmm.. seems to be differing information out there on what a cambodian is. ??? I was thinking a cambodian was a certain type of fins (lesser than typical VT bettas). I found that information, but I also found information on cambodian bettas being a slightly genetically different betta lacking a black layer and a cambodian can actually be any type of tail betta. ??? kind of confused on if Sora is a cambodian given that information.

A traditional cambodian Betta has a creamy white opaque body and dark red fins. The tail type doesn't matter. It's the coloring. There are various sub-types of cambodians now but basically it is still a white body with dark fins. Some cambodians have a lot of color wash on their body but a show quality shouldn't. Whisper, the female I recently lost was a cambodian and although it was hard to photograph her body was white with reddish edges on the scales and dark red fins. In pics she just looked red.

 

Willow is very pale, but with a yellowish hint, with dark red fins.
