I am for sure purchasing my first personal crested gecko tomorrow and it was actually unexpected.
In my previous thread I mentioned the fact that I do plan to enter the crested gecko breeding world eventually and originally my plan was to buy my first crested from my local repticon that is coming up or from altitude exotics but while making some changes to my cart for my set up shopping spree tomorrow I came across a crested gecko listed and fell for it.
The thing is I shop for most everything reptile and aquarium related but I have never bought an animal from josh's frogs and I can't really find any reviews on their pets either so maybe you guys have some input into whether or not they are a reputable breeder or should I avoid them? Obviously the gecko I buy from them will stay solely a pet and will NOT be a breeder as I don't think they are too high of quality.
I'm mainly curious as to what I should expect from them and if anyone knows whether or not they truly do take care of their animals because obviously I don't want to contribute to anyone that neglects their pets whether i'm buying breeders or just pets.
Also has anyone had any experience with whether or not they ship everything from the same order at once and if they arrive at the same time? I would assume they did but i'm generally curious.
Note: Yes I have done PLENTY of research and I do have a large amount of knowledge on genetics and general husbandry when it comes to these pets, I have been in the breeding business with fish, my parents had a husky breeding business that I grew up into, and my uncle had always kept and bred reptiles so needless to say I grew up around breeding and therefore I know what all goes into breeding quality animals. Just because I had personally not owned a crested gecko yet does not mean I don't have the knowledge to do it and do it correctly. Last time I mentioned this I had someone talk down to me and treat me as if I was an idiot and I just wanted to make this all clear before something is to be said. Also no, these are not my first reptile, I currently own 4 leopard geckos which I do love dearly and are living great lives!! Also to clear the air i'm not breeding right away! I'm simply planning to do it in the farther future once I feel i'm comfortable with keeping them in general
