10 Gallon Tank Cracked Mystery Snail Shell

I just bought three snails yesterday, and one of my mystery snails has a crack in his shell:

I'm not entirely worried as there's nothing going to harm him in the tank; there's only two other snails and a bunch of detritus worms... which I don't really think will bother him (I'm hoping)

I didn't really notice it when I bought him, but I doubt there's anything in the tank that can damage his shell like that. I mean the other mystery shell loves free falling, maybe he got damaged by free falling?

Anyways, should I be worried? Or will it heal by itself? Or will it stay like that forever? If possible I really want go let him recover though. Will shell eggs help him recover his shell? If so, how do I put the egg shells in use?

Sorry for so many questions ^^"

But so far, he's been very active. He's always on the glass, under the HOB filter, pretty much anywhere.

My water parameters today are:
PH: 7.2
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrites: 0ppm
Nitrates: 5ppm

Thank you for reading

It doesn't look so much like a crack, and more like a growth transition to me. When water parameters change, so does the growth pattern. It leaves a ring in the shell almost like rings of a tree. Looks to me like it was bred in harder water but did most of it's growing out in water that wasn't as hard. No cause for concern.

Ohhh, that's really interesting... thank you so much!

Do make sure you have enough minerals/calcium in your tank. Snails need minerals in the water to build their shells. If the water is too acidic, their shells will start to get thin as the minerals are leached from their shell into the water column.
Egg shells will work for this. Clean them well and leave some in the tank. If you can, putting them in the filter is the most effective way to do this. I like crushed coral for this better than egg shells. Crushed coral should be available at any LFS, and it is cheap. It lasts a lot longer than egg shell though, which is why I like it.

If you have hard water, you are probably fine already. His shell should take care of itself.

Oh alright, I tried looking for GH and KH tests for my snails, but no luck finding them in all my LFS.

But alright, I'll try egg shells for now. Thank you so much!
