Cracked canister filter

Hey guys I was just wondering what kind of epoxy I can use to fix a large crack in a canister filter that's aquarium safe? Or anything I can use to fix the crack.

Go to home depot and buy some GE silicone black. or, find a bucket or something and just replace the whole canister portion.

But will glue and silicone hold up over time? And I imagine there's some sort of pressure inside the canister?

I put hot glue on mine. Let it set for like 24 hours before putting back in tank. It worked for mine but the crack wasn't too serious and my canister is small.

I have a fluval 405 that has a crack in the bottom. What's the best way to fix this. Can I use epoxy? Will aquarium safe silicone hold?

Silicone will separate after time. Epoxy may hold but honestly it be better to replace. Maybe you can contact fluval and order the can itself

Thanks Big Red. I've found a replacement can for $40ish. Was kinda hoping I could just seal this one up. Probably better to just replace so I don't find my tank water on the living room floor.
