Hello, everybody. I am looking for terrarium plants to brighten up my dull crabitat. I know spider plants will work, but they get eaten too quickly and I am running low on stocks. Would it be all right to put in some dwarf mondo grass or just regular mondo grass? A lot of this is growing in my yard and they are never sprayed, just organically fertilized with home-harvested chicken manure. I want to be sure the stuff I put in my crabitat is safe for them- I once lost a crab to accidental food poisoning. Here is a list of the plants I was looking to add, just wanted an opinion if they were safe for my crabs.

  1. Dwarf/standard mondo grass
  2. Crabgrass
  3. Sedum
  4. Portulaca
  5. Gladiolus
  6. African violet
  7. Ajuga (chocolate chip, black scallop, multicolored, etc)

Thank you!
Jess

You could try mondo grass, it will love the humidity and heat.

Other than that, consider looking at reptile boards for planting vivariums, and note down the species that they use.
