Once upon a time, I had a few of these funny little critters called "Kuhli loaches". They were funny, silly little things.

    I'm debating getting some again.

But will they be appropriate ?

    Tank will be :
    75 gallons
    Planted (medium-heavy eventually)
Black blasting sand as a substrate

Not sure on tank mates yet - my guppies will be there for sure though.

I have 22 +/- one or two in a 75 gallon on pool filter sand. They love the space.

My only question is how sharp is the blasting sand?

It feels like sandbox sand to my fingers, but that is not a good indicator, I don't think.

Will the Kuhlis uproot my plants ?

That sand should be fine then.
They won't uproot them but they will hang out of them like tree ornaments LOL

Wet or dry? Have you washed it yet?

    Wet.

And I spent the better part of 2 days rinsing this stuff, Jaysee ! Took forever to get it to run clear for me, but well worth it.

I put it in the tank last night, and even with stirring up some of the sand, the water was clear ! It looks really nice, actually.

great! I;ve found some sands (play) that feel really soft when dry, turn out to be rather rough after washing.

    Yep totally agree.
Good question Jaysee. I had just assumed it was wet :)

I really love my Kuhlis. I have a log with a huge bunch of different kinds of Java Fern on it and they are forever in it foraging for goodies then they will just hang from a stem like they are exhausted. They have such a hard life :giggle:
