Could/should I add a beta to my 29?

You can see what fish I already have in my 29. Beta's are so pretty and I was thinking of adding one to the tank if you think it would flourish with the established tankmates. Didn't know if the longfinned white skirts would be compatible either. Your thoughts?

Yes Bettas are gorgeous fish and everyone knows that I love them, but sadly they do not do well with other long finned fishl They think they are another Betta and the fight is on. If you don't want your other long finned fish attacked by the little devils, it would be my advice to pass on the Bettas. ( As sad as I am to tell you this, because I know you would make a great Betta keeper!)

Perhaps you will have another opportunity some time in the future, as they are lovely fish and would get along with most of the short finned varieties provided THEY aren't fin nippers. Hope this was helpful.

Yep, she's right. Especially in regards to the Gourami. B/c they are in the same family, they tend to act the same...meaning a male betta will fight with a male gourami.

Maybe you could set up a small 2 or 3 gallon betta tank and let him show off on his own!

But as much as you want a betta, please don't put your betta in a bowl. It's cruel, and unhealthy for your betta.

Right....I didn't mean that if that's what anyone thought....I mean like a real tank with a nice filter hopefully and a light, and a heater....like a tank. Just wanted to clarify.
