Could I refit my 30litre Freshwater Tank?

Could I refit my 30litre freshwater tank into a saltwater tank by adding a sump (saltwater and all the other bits as well) or would it affect the silicon or anything. Also I know it would have to be really small corals but could I possibly keep any inverts and maybe 1/2 fish? Anyway the main question is could I do it? Also could I used my current heater or would that not work?

Oh and I know how I would do it I just need to know if it would adversely affect the silicon and the heater

Yes by all means you can switch as long as the silicoln is not been dried out and is under 7 years old.
As for the heater make sure there is no hard deposits on the heater before using in salt this will affect water chemistry in salt and will leach into the tank. You can use vinager to soak it in but not the plastic parts only the glass tube in and remove the deposits then rinse very well and let air dry for 48 hours.

So will I have to keep water on the silicone then?

It would be a good idea although if you do not have that option then dry the tank out and put a plastic bag to help for the silicoln not to dry out, as long as the silicoln has not loosened from the glass and is well intact then you will be fine cover the tank with a garbage bag on the top so that it won't stress the silicoln.

Yeah I was planning on draining the tank and it would probably be empty for a couple of days max

If it's just for a few weeks then not a problem it's the long term that needs attention for the silicoln to be reused again with little problems.
