Last night my husband did a water change(ammonia and nitrites elevated a bit) and the fish were fine. When we got up this morning, the Molly has a cottony white spot on her side, and the platy has one on her back. Im not sure what to even be looking to treat here. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Generally speaking when ammonia and nitrite get elevated, the fish's immune systems have a harder time fighting disease. It sounds to me like you have some sort of a fungus, but without a picture of it, I can't really say what it is or how to treat it. It doesn't sound like ich though... that has the appearance of salt all over the fish.:;a1

This is the best pic I could get. Hope this helps out some. I can still try to get another pic if you want. Thanks!
