Corys with Kuhli loaches in 10 gallon

I have a 10 gallon with three KuhlI loaches (I’m aware they should be in a 20 gallon but I didn’t know that until months after I got them). I want to add some Corys to the tank and am wondering can I? If so how many? Also the Kuhlis don’t seem to be stressed by being In a 10 gallon. Thanks!

My opinion is that no Coryspecies should be kept in a 10 gallon, not even de the dwarf species.

I read some where that Pygmy Corys can Be in a ten gallon, would they be ok?

A lot of people think dwarfs are okay cause of their size : Their behaviour (Pygmees are midwater swimmers) and sensitivity for pollution makes me advise otherwise.

No fish should be put in a small tank only based on their size.

I’m aware of that, I do frequent water changes and I always ensure that the water is good before I add in new fish (especially sensitive ones)

I would recommend a 20 long but you could get sterbaI or Pygmy as long as they are in a group of 6. Be sure to give them some swimming space as Double Dutch mentioned.

Ok so then could I do six as long as I keep up with the water changes?

As long as the tank is upsized I would say yes. A 20 long isn’t to much bigger than a 10 but it gives a little more wiggle room

As long as it's a 20 gallon or larger..

Ok thanks! Also, I noticed you said SterbaI or Pygmy, which is best?

Uhhhhh the question is about a 10G and the answers about a 20G.

Don't you have 2 kribensis in this 10 gallon too? People warned you against them too but you went with them anyway last I checked. Or did you rehome/upgrade? I would say none of these three fish should be in a 10g. With pygmy corys being the most suitable.

Also I’m planning to upgrade eventually, just not soon

Then definitely don’t add any more fish until you upgrade. Especially fish that need bigger than a 10 gal.

Than I'd wait and definitely not get C.sterbaI for a 10G

Fair enough, I thought you had said you bought another. Must have just been wondering if you could then. I agree that you should wait for the upgrade before stocking up.

Cool! I’m not getting a tank immediately, I gotta make space and figure out where to put it and all that stuff, thanks for the offer though!
