Just received an e-mail from my fishclub, They will be having an online raffle for a group of 5. Looked them up, it appears they are rarer than most available, need cooler water (67-77).
Any keepers with info to share.

Did you see this on the interbet.
Gläser is a worldfamous importer.

These were a club purchase, not sure from which importer.
Thanks for the link, have you had any experience with them?

Nope. Noticed the article is from 2019 so they're only recent in the trade.
I always try to get info from the mentiobed river(system).
Stange is that the normal temp in that region looks to be 77F so I don't understand they need cooler water than that.
Will try to find some more info.

The Gläser artivle mentions they are often bycatch of C schwartzi and C.incolicana, which are both cooler water Corys so this seems to be correct .

Scotcat is the site of Ian Fuller (coryguru) so that info should be the best

Definitely will be buying raffle tickets. There will be a total of only 40 raffle tickets for purchase. Still no set price for each one. Should have that info in next email..
For those of you interested, the raffle is for club members only.

I have wanted paralellus for years but then shied away when I found out something about them. I though it was that they run a scary PH like 4 but googling says 6-7.5 so that is not it. Maybe the breeder was running scary PH?

EDIT: yep, it was PH.

It appears they do require a lower pH. I am investigating further and have contacted the club rep for more info.

That's kinda what I figured, I was joking in my post. Good luck though!

While the video says 75$ a piece I think when I contacted that guy he had them up for 50$ a piece on aquabid. On the other hand that was quite a while ago and they could be any price now.

Missed my chance , all 40 tickets sold @ $5 each. $200 for 5 fish.
Hopefully the winner will end up breeding them, maybe pick some up next year.

Awww sorry mate.
Wouldn't expect that. Some are quite hard to breed.

It would be an ambitious project but wow, I would have been there 1 second after the raffle started and picked up all 40 tickets. A chance to breed a completely new line of expensive cories? Yes please

Nothing cool like that ever happens here lol

Sorry you missed out but you may get another chance at some point as fish clubs are the best place to find rarer species

Dont mean to hijack the thread, but I’m curious why some corydoras are harder to breed? I didnt realize that. My C. aeneus spawn alllll the time.
