When I turned the bright lights on this morning I noticed one of my Peppered Cories had a red spot behind its pelvic fins.

Could this be from mating in the T-position?

The fish is otherwise acting perfectly normal - this is the cory that feeds up at the surface each day and it did so again today.

    Edit: Coradee can you help?

I doubt it's from spawning,I've never seen marks on mine after spawning & they're always at it, can you get a clear pic of it?

Thanks, Coradee I'll try. Most of them are napping right now.

Okay. Here is a picture of the red area.

Edit: Anders247 do you have any thoughts on this red spot?
    Coradee is offline I think.

That looks like a bacterial infection to me & although I can't see the whole fish it looks on the skinny side.
I'd treat with an antibiotic, I can't recommend one unfortunately as we can't get them without a vet prescription here, hopefully someone will be able to give you a brand name

An update - the red spot is almost completely gone today and the cory ate and acted as usual this morning. I'm keeping a close eye on all my fish.
