Cory W/ White fluffy tail

Mschult13

I have one Cory with white fluffy mass on his tail fins. Hoping someone here can help me identify and then treat the issue.
120 gallon aquarium with massive plant load. Treated with ich-x three times to not fix. Only fish showing these symptoms. All others seem normal.
Thanks I’m advance.

Hi, and welcome to FishLore.

Please don’t medicate unless you have a 100% certain diagnosis of the disease/infection. If the white spots are big and fluffy, it doesn’t sound like ich.

I can’t see the full picture; only the top. This is what I see:

Are you seeing the same as me?

Posted photo again to hopefully correct issue viewing.

Thank you. I can see it now. That is a bronze cory.

I’m directed towards columnaris or a fungal infection. The photo isn’t clear enough for me to distinguish between the two, however both can create white protrusions. With columnaris, the white is created by dead tissue eaten away by columnaris bacteria, while with fungal infections, the white is the actual fungus.

Thanks for your help. I’ll do some research on treatment options. Thanks again.

No problem.

Until then: daily or once every two days 50% water changes will help.
