Cory Eggs! Are They Fertile And How To Hatch

Hello,

My corys have laid eggs!!!! I would like to know whether they are fertile or not. The eggs were laid on some floating Salvinia Minima/Water Spangles and I noticed them a few hours ago. I removed them and placed in a pyrex container with an air filter. I separated the eggs. You will see some dark streaks on some of them - these are the remaining roots that they were attached to.

I would love to know whether these are fertile! I also have some other questions if they are:

- can these be kept and hatched at room temp?
- research tells me that I should change 50% of the water each day, half tap water, half tank water. Is this correct?
- anything else I need to do?!

Pictures attached! If I shine a torch on them they have a opaque blob in the center. I assume this is the yoke?

Thanks!

Really hard to know if they are fertile until they hatch, or don’t.

You want the temperature to be the same as in the main tank (so a little hotter than room temperature).

Keep the current VERY strong. Mold can collect on the eggs if there isn’t constant water movement.

Change around 50% each day (you can change a little less)

I have an idea. Get a Tupperware that you don’t care if it gets ruined. Punch a lot of small holes (maybe with a pencil) on the sides of the Tupperware, but not the bottom. Find a way to attach the Tupperware to the inside of your tank. Add the eggs to the bottom. Then add the airstone to the Tupperware, that is inside your tank. That way, you have good water. Also heated water.

Thanks! I've done what you suggested and the eggs are now in... a Danone yogurt container lol. I need to add holes to the sides this morning. Fingers crossed. This is exciting!
