My khuli loaches do they same thing. They are just sitting together eating or sleeping and then BAM one of them goes crazy and frantically swims around the tank in circles and glass surfs and goes to my spray bar to get blasted around. They are weird. I have 10.
I have kuhlis who do this too, I thought it was a sign of stress?

Hi all!
I recently got some corys and ever since I added them to the tank, they have been nonstop swimming and what I think is glass surfing. They were speeding along rubbing against the glass both vertically and horizontally. I'm not sure if this is just the way corys are or what... I will get a video and post it here soon.

What is the water volume of the tank? 29g
How long has the tank been running? 9/25/2020
Does it have a filter? Yes
Does it have a heater? Yes
What is the water temperature? 73F
What is the entire stocking of this tank? (Please list all fish and inverts.)\
8 WCMM
4 Nerite Snails
4 Bronze Corys

Maintenance
How often do you change the water? Once per week
How much of the water do you change? ~50%
What do you use to treat your water? Seachem prime
Do you vacuum the substrate or just the water? Vacuum

*Parameters - Very Important
Did you cycle your tank before adding fish? Yes
What do you use to test the water? API Freshwater Master Test Kit
What are your parameters? We need to know the exact numbers, not just “fine” or “safe”.
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 2
pH: 7.2

Feeding
How often do you feed your fish? Once per day
How much do you feed your fish? Depends on the food
What brand of food do you feed your fish? Omega One Freshwater Flakes, Hikari Frozen Bloodworms, Live BBS
Do you feed frozen or freeze-dried foods? Yes, frozen and live

Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish? About 5 hours
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms? When I added them to the tank
In a few words, can you explain the symptoms? Darting around and glass surfing
Have you started any treatment for the illness? No
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase? No
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all? N/A

Explain your emergency situation in detail. (Please give a clear explanation of what is going on, include details from the beginning of the illness leading up to now)
See above.

Thanks!

Hahaha this is all very normal. They are new. Let them settle. But even when settled they will still dart around and surf glass a bit. Just sit down, watch their little moustaches and calm down haha only thing i would say is they do really enjoy sand for digging. I have a gravel tank but I have a spot that is sand for them, I try to get there food to drop on the sand. They love searching for it with their moustaches.

Do you feed them frozen blood worms? IDK how much to feed the four lol. I'll just guess it you don't know.

Yes I give them bloodworms but prefer to feed my fish blackworms, more nutritious. The amount to feed depends on what else is in the tank. As they are also eating anything that falls to the ground from feeding your other fish. I have specific sinking pellets I will drop a few in every few days but mostly I see them getting to lefts overs and they have fat bellies so that's all I do.

Ok. I'll just wing it then. I'm sure it'll be fine.

I think I'll just wait it out and see if they get better.

Aww, that is adorable! I've seen this before and it all seems to be very normal! In fact, this reminds me of an old friend of mine!

I once adopted a 3-4 year old female Albino Corydoras named Fleamont from my local Humane Society. They took good care of her, but she just seemed so sad and lonely in that tiny container. Once I brought her home, I drip-acclimated her to match the water parameters of the Goldfish's 90 gal setup! She immediately warmed up to them, "glass surfing" (just learned about this term probably not even 2 years ago), and soon became one of my favorite fish I have ever had! I mean, geez, Fleamont is the reason I got into Corydoras in the first place! She lived happily for another 3 years

Sounds like it's pretty normal. I guess I'll just wait a few days and see.

I think that’s just what they do. Mine do that for almost all day but still eat and play games with my hand when I doing things in the tank. A new trick I taught them (well they just did it one day lol) was to make a circle with my hand and they swim through.

How do you teach them to play? I'm interested! Sounds like just about the cutest thing ever...

Lol ok. Haven't tested mine with "The Hand" so we'll see.

One or two are still doing it. Should I give them one more day to chill?
