Can cory catfish live in a fish tank of 8.2 ph? and can i use gravel for the bottom of the tank or do they really need sand? or can i put part sand part gravel?

Yes, they can live in a high pH tank. Just acclimate them slowly if they're coming from a low pH.

Soft gravel is fine, though sand is preferred.

I wouldn't mix sand and gravel unless you have a barrier - otherwise the sand will settle below the gravel.

Yes, that pH is fine if acclimated properly.

Sand is preferred by corys but gravel is fine as long as it's smooth and there are no rough edges. You can have both if you make some sort of divider.
