Corner 54 Gallon tank VS standard 55 Gallon Tank

HI all! Not sure if this is where this question belongs but a local fish store has a Corner 54 Gallon tank with a stand and lid for $125.00
Right now we have a 55 Gallon standard rectangle tank. The only fish I currently have in there are: (1) Angel Fish full grown, (1) Dwarf Gourami (young), (15) Neon Tetras, and (2) Siamese Algae eaters (young). We really like the look and the space capacity of the corner tank however we may be adding a pleco to our tank sometime and I wondered if this would still be suitable for swimming and if depth would be an issue?
What are the Pros and Cons of a corner tank vs the Standard tank?

Thank you!

I think it would be ok, you haven't got particularly open swimming fish that would need the 4ft. As long as the height is comfortable for the Angelfish. What kind of Pleco?

That's the deal of the century! Would love one but knowing me I'd drop something important behind it in an inaccessible place.
Plecos are a must - if they don't outgrow your tank.

Well we are looking at a gold nugget Pleco, So they get (From what i've read) anywhere from 6-8 inches long when mature. They are beautiful. We had a pleco before (Think he was a blue one) in the standard tank he was about 7-8 years old but he was massive, easily 12 inch. Years ago we went on vacation and asked our friends to watch our fish (literally just tetras and an angel at the time) and we came back they had added a pleco, a crab and some frogs. what a disaster.. but we kept the pleco for a long time until last month he decided he wanted to fly and jumped out of the tank. Our tank just hasn't been the same without one.

Wow, I would be annoyed if someone put something in my tanks! Even if they had good intent
Sorry to hear about your Pleco I've never heard of them jumping but the way they go up the glass I can imagine it happening.

OH we were! We had the perfect little community and then bam more fish! We tried to isolate the crab because he kept nipping the fins of the other fish PLUS he was a semI salt water crab! we tried to create a smaller salty tank for him but he didn't make it. The frogs needed some rocks/land to jump up onto and our tank was so deep they couldn't get up for air.. we got rocks in right away for them but again too late. Thanks about our pleco, he loved to thrash around on top and try to splash anyone who was near the tank (jerk,....) but it was overnight we aren't sure what happened.
