Corcscrew val vs jungle val

So I have a 55 gallon I'm starting to plant and initially I wanted that jungle look in the background. I got jungle Val because I don't really do any dosing and just use root tabs and so far they're doing good.

However someone on here warned me that they grow like crazy and while I don't mind trimming weekly if needed, im considering if I should get corcscrew val instead.

I'm not sure about the differences but I've read corcscrew val is shorter but needs high light.

If I could keep jungle val I wouldn't mind but I'm worried Itll become too much of a hassle.

Every tank is going to be different. My jungle vals and Italian vals grow but don’t go crazy. And I couldn't grow corkscrew val; it melted.
My tanks are low tech and I use both root tabs and liquid ferts.
Good luck! I love the look of the tall vals and my fish love swimming through them.

You could also do italian vals (v. spiralis) if you like the straight look as they don't get as big, and corkscrew will survive, however...
With a tall tank like a 55, most plants will get tall and lanky if you don't have a strong light. The light has to be stronger to penetrate more water, and the plants will adjust their height so they can get the light they need, (that's why carpet plants need high light, it's to keep them short and bushy.)

Ah, maybe I'll try the jungle Val. They're pretty cheap so if anything it's not that big of a deal

Depends what you want. Jungle val can get an inch to inch 1/4 wide and 6+ feet long; italia val is similar but narrower (maybe 1/4 inch wide); i dont' want to comment on cork screw val because i've never owned it but if it stays shorter that would be a big++

The reason I went for jungle val over Italian initially was that I've heard Italian Val propogates with runners very very fast. Personally I'd rather trim the tops of Val's weekly than have to go searching for runners I want to remove

My jungle val propagets faster than the italia val but to be honest i think they all propagate fast if they are happy less so if unhappy.
