Convicts for Mothers Day

Well after shopping this weekend...hee hee love Mothers Day. Two great LFS and about 6 hours later. I got several new plants that I have not had before. This part you are not going to believe because I am still having a hard time with it. I have been looking for a pair of convicts for a 29 gal. I wanted a male to try and breed with my BRPs. We get to PetSmart in Douglasville and those folks know their stuff I have to give them loads of credit. They asked all about the tank parameters, size, ph...etc. You get the idea. Well I still have a hard time telling male from female on the cichlids if they look a lot alike. So we get a very nice salesperson back over to help after looking for who knows how long. When she found out I wanted a pair of convicts she asked me if I wanted the babies they had a few weeks back. So I buy mom and dad and get all their babies too. The babies are in a 10 gal now with dark green shrimp and blue mystery snails until they are big enough for the grow out tank. So folks this means I will be farming out some convicts to my fishlore friends you just gotta let me know if you want any. I will let you know when they are ready.

Sorry for the letter...excitement just got the best of me.

Amanda I knew they were pretty and I really like them but when I saw that mom and her orange tummy I was hooked. And there was dad taking care of the babies. Yes I had done my research on them before jumping in that boat.

CHoffman Hey I work part time now...I think I can handle it. I better watch what I say or every fish I have will have loads of babies. Hee hee although that would be fun. Carol mentioned something about the barometric pressure having something to do with or helping with the breeding process and if that is the case I am in trouble. Mollies are dropping fry right and left and so are the guppies and endlers...not to mention the shrimp. I don't know if I told you or not but I got three of those crays that there are only females and they pretty much clone themselves. I got them last week and found one with eggs today. Don't know what I am going to do with them just the fact that there were no males facinated me so I had to see it for myself.

LOL..Seriously you need to start a little business. Pretty soon your going to have a fish house!!..Then you'll have no worries about being part time..You'll be a full time fish keeper/breeder/seller...

Now I would love that job. That would be great!! The only thing I do is sell plants and stuff on Ebay to support my fish habit LOL.

Aquatic plants. I buy large quantities and then sell them in quantities that people with one or two tanks need...unlike us. Sometimes if things work out right I will do a package with different types of plants in there just depends on what I can get at the time. I am not really into the whole light measurement thing or fertilizer either so my fish do the fertilizing and my plants do pretty well with the lights that I have.
