Convict Cichlids Fighting With Others

I have a breeding pair of convict cichlids In a 170l tank (45gallons) with a young albino Senegal Bichir, a jewel Cichlid and a young electric blue acara. The problem is the electric blue acara and the Bichir aren’t Doing very well. I have a larger 75 gallon 5ft tank (with one 5 inch albino Oscar, a red tailed shark and some baby convicts). Could I move the the father into the larger tank? Would it reduce aggression?

Aha I watched this video yesterday. They seemed okay until they started breeding which is when the aggression increased greaty

Almost anything will become way more aggressive when breeding, so that would be the reason.
Seperating them could put the fry at risk though

Alright thanks I think I’ll wait until the fry are grown enough to take to the fish shop, and then I will move them to the 75 and let everything in the 45 be at peace.

Well removing the fry might also get them to calm down too. They won't be defending them anymore

Unfortunately I have nowhere to put the fry and I don’t want to have them killed unnecessarily I think I’ll wait another two weeks. If things go southwards for the other fish then I may have to move the parents and the fry into the larger tank. The only problem is the fry are only just free swimming so it would be difficult to move them.

Only thing I can think of is dividing your tank with egg crate temporarily.

I’ve made a visual barrier with rocks and driftwood for the moment

Breeding convicts are a nightmare and will fight with any fish in the tank large or small.. they really pack a punch for such small cichlids

My convict cichlids ate all the other fish I had over time, although I didn't have any tough fish like you; I unknowningly put them in with snacks (the convicts were rescues and I didn't know what fish they were at the time).
I never got fry out of them (or if I did, they were eaten, but they probably got sucked into the filter) so I have no idea how to raise them or anything.
