Convict Cichlid alone in 20 gallon?

I have a 20 gallon long and was wondering if I could keep 1 convict Cichlid by itself in this tank size I see a lot of people say they will do good in this tank but they might not so I'm just wondering what you guys think.

I would only keep smaller cichlids in 20gal (Rams and apistogramma for example). Full-grown convict would be more comfortable in 40gal.

Iv kept convicts in 211gal and trust me they use the swimming space when they want to.

Its a relatively large and intelligent fish and will need an appropriate environment to explore and forage in.

I'd regard a 20 gallon as a prison cell for such a fish.

Basically, its needs would not be met.

20' Gallons is plenty for a single convict. I had multiple convicts in a 20 long. You could add a Pleco in there easily too.
