HI guys. Today my sisters sun conure but my upper lip (it almost went all the way through it)? Should I be concerned about infection? I put some neosporin on it.

Not sure why he bit me. I was sitting watching tv and he flew over and sat on my shoulder for about 5 min. Next thing I know he bit my lip and flew back to his cage. I know nothing spooked him, hes watched the episode I was watching millllions of times (its his fav).

Unlikely you need to worry. If it gets red and inflamed, go to a dr..it could be infected.

Agreed just pay attention to it and see if it starts turning red.

Ok. Its currently swollen. I just sprayed it with a cleaner

I have a Conure of my own I wouldn’t worry about it. I have been bit multiple times without infection.

Edit: About the swelling, almost all bites from birds will swell up and turn red. Even if they don’t break skin. I’m not sure why, but it just does lol

Ahh... how old is he? Parrots (such as conures) tend to go through the “terrible twos” that toddlers go through.

What do you mean by cleaner? Don't put any harsh chemicals on your lips. They're very sensitive.

Yay! He’s in a good home now! I would love to see a picture of the little guy. My bird is about 3 or 4 years old now and goofy as heck.

Ok, good. When you said cleaner I was thinking something crazy like bathroom or window cleaner. People do some pretty stupid stuff, so just wanted to be sure.

Lol, maybe he thought you'd look nice with a lip piercing! XD

Joking aside, sometimes birds can be jerks for no justifiable reason, they're big grumpy babies, if they don't think they're getting their way and/or just want your attention, they'll be brats about it. It sounds like he was just being a donkey, they'll do that sometimes even to their main imprinted human. He may have not been completely aware of his strength either, but that is another story.
Hope your lip heals up quick and nice, just keep it clean and keep an eye on it. With that amount of pressure I wouldn't rule out bruising around the site either, depending on the angle he bit you, so, it will be tender from that as well. If it bothers you enough you can get an anti-biotic spray which also numbs the site.

Lol, I'm curious, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but what I'd his/your favorite episode of what that you both were watching? Again, it's not important to your problem, as I don't think it had much if anything to do with his misbehavior, I'm just really interested. My family pets all have different things they like to watch, too.

He is a pretty boy! Nice wings too. Unfortunately my guy has his wings clipped, but when I let them grow out they are a nice light blue/teal (he is a green cheeked conure with more blue than normal)

Likely the swelling is due to crushing the tissues....nothing clean and neat about a bird bite.

We clipped them once but he got depressed and stopped eating. We haven't clipped them since

Bactine is perfect as it has the pain relieving agent in it and works very well, I believe it is better for healing than peroxide is, too (but don't quote me on that last point, lol).

Oh, he LOOKS like trouble xD
Very beautiful and visibly spoiled, lol.

Too funny xD

My betta is probably the biggest tv watcher, he gets mad if we pause or turn it off. He like the Game Grumps, and certain things (I watch YouTube alot, it's good background noise), depending on his mood. We've recently been watching Friends and he seems to like that. The other night we were watching Jurassic Park, and he seemed to really be into that and the (calmer) music, but I also noticed he seemed to look away when things got really intense. XD. He REALLY likes British television. By far, though, his MOST favorite show is Midsomer Murders. XD
(We watch ALOT of different things, so I can only give a (still too long-winded summary xD)).

My sister's cockatiel really likes Moana, the music is his favorite.
As for everyone else, it depends on the thing, by far and large Archer is the biggest tv fan, though. Even my old dog Baby, (rip I miss you) didn't watch as much tv, and she did more than the other two dogs we have now (she was smarter than them, too, so...maybe that's it? Lol).

We fairly recently got Smokey clipped, too, because he is a menace to curtains, it didn't stop him much, though, he STILL gets up there. xD

VeiltailKing If you're interested in still keeping some of the shape of your bird-bird's wings, the vet did what they called a "tuxedo" cut, so maybe you can look into that.
Princethepurplebetta That's sad, I'd suggest the tux cut, but I wouldn't risk at all, obviously. x.x
