So, I know this stuff feeds off of silicates and it's only a matter of time til they die off. In the meantime, I need to keep them from completely smothering my plants. I'd rather not buy otocinclus fish because this is just a 10 gallon, I don't want them competing with future shrimp I'm planning to keep, and their survival rates are terrible. I already have a nerite and an amano in there, but the nerite never seems to graze on the plants and the amano... honestly I don't even know if it's alive because I never see it.
