Ok I am thinking of doing a 50 gal or so container pond, likely the rubbermaid kind to pick up at walmart. Planning to brick around it for stability and appearance.

What sort of equipment do I need? I am only familiar with aquarium filters, the relatively simple HOB really.

I am thinking 2-3 goldfish (possibly a fancy type?), and maybe try a waterlily or 2.

Louisiana summers get to about 100F, in a 2-3 foot container, will they be cool enough? I wouldn't mind setting a frozen water bottle in if needed. Where I am planning to put it will be shaded in the morning, but around noon the sun will hit it.

I'd also like to make caves of some sort in there- can I place cinder blocks or will they dissolve?

Great links for container specific ponds are welcome!!!

Hi!
Container ponds are so cool!
One of our other members had one. Maybe you can get some ideas from it.
Here's a link to her blog about it:

Good luck and post some pics if you take on this project.
