Constipated Betta Fish

Hello all,
I have a few posts about this betta, he is a dragonscale betta with a large tumor on his side and he has not pooped (that I can tell) in about at least 2 weeks.
I fasted him for several days, fed him only peas for a few other days with intermittent fasting and tried an epsom salt bath with no luck.
Could this be caused by the tumor??? Btw he is in a bare bottom tank so I know when he poops. He used to poop very consistently and without problems.
He is in good spirits and is swimming around and still showing interest in food. I read that daphnia can help but I do not have access to it at the moment with the whole pandemic thing going on.
Is there anything else I can try? I do have clove oil, I feel as though I am out of options and I don't want him to suffer. Please let me know if there is anything else I can try.

So sorry about your betta! Under the circumstances and our present conditions, I would say try doing 2 epsom salt baths a day if the betta isn't showing signs of stress.

I have used freeze dried daphnia, but usually the peas or fasting works...

Can you post a few pics?

Maybe one from the top so we can see what that looks like looking down on him, and one from the sides?

Just want to rule out a few things...

I’d love to see a picture so I can better see where the tumor is, and if it’s blocking anything.

As for clove oil if it comes down to it, I’d just wait til he’s not taking food / not as active etc., as long as he’s acting fine for now he is probably okay.

Hi, thanks for the reply. He is in a 2.5 gallon heated tank and I change 60% of his water everyday. As you can see from the pictures, the mass is huge now. I have some pictures from the first few days of when I brought him home. I am aware of his fins and I am working on it although it has worsened over the past few weeks after a lot of improvement, it almost seems as though he's wasting away . You can maybe also tell when looking at before/now pics that the tumor seems to be pressing on the lower part of his lower fin... He may not look super bloated but I don't know how else he could be pooping... Btw the last 2 pics were him the first few days that I had him.

I attached pictures to the reply above you! I really hope it doesn't come down to the clove oil as I have grown very fond of him. I work at a pet store and he was there for a while before I brought him home.

I forgot to post a picture of his side with the tumor so here it is

Thanks for your help. I figured it was probably beyond help at this point but I love my fish so much so I figured I would try.

Poor baby!!!!

It almost looks like he had the beginnings of something in the last picture that you posted when you first got him. If that is the case, then it probably is a tumor or the start of an intestine issue, and not just swim bladder disorder.

I would try the 2 epsom salt baths a day (as long as he is not too stressed). If it truly is a tumor or an organ issue, than there is really nothing you can do but to take care of him as best as you can for now.

Keep him warm, keep his water clean, and if you have access to an Indian almond leaf, then add that to his water. It is a stress reliever.

Don't give up on him. You will know if or when you need to use the clove oil. If he is swimming, and eating, and still acting curious, then just try your best. Give him the best life that you can.

Thank you, I will try the epsom salt baths. I don't want to give up on him but I also don't want him to suffer. You are right, he always had something on his side, at first it looked like a single raised scale but it has now turned into this. Thanks again.
