HI everyone,

One of my Congo tetras has a swollen lump of a stomach, he’s acting the same super hungry but my alpha Congo is chasing him a lot. I’ve inserted some terrible quality pictures. Should I move him to my qt tank with my other sick fish? I’m worried if he’s not sick and I expose him. He’s acting the same just has this hard looking lump.

Parameters:

PH: 6.8
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 5ppm

Could have just overeaten. Is is more or less uniform on both sides, or is it sticking out just to one side. Uniform, probably eggs or ate too much, one side, possible injury. How long has it been this way?

It was like it for a day and definitely stuck out more on one side but this morning it’s gone! He’s just a piggy and was having trouble digesting a piece of pellet it seems.

Sorry for the late reply, glad it was just some indigestion. My cave tetra had those all over its body after a trip through the siphon tube and some visible internal bleeding. It was also all gone the next day; I was going to suggest that it would clear up soon, if not overnight.
