60 Gallon Tank Concerns On My 60g Tank

HI guys, just a couple questions and such..
my tank info;
60 gallon
Eheim Heater (maintained at 79.9f)
My filter is a Whisper ex70
Numbers below as of 5:30pm et
Water parameters ph-7.0
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0.5
Nitrate-5.0
Fish
4- 3” Bala Sharks
5 - 3” Dwarf Gouramis
3- Clown loaches
1- Pleco
1- Stripped catfish
Now my concern, my tank has been running for about 2 months now I use seachem Prime and stability on water changes and as the tank started.
But it’s been two months and my tank is incredibly cloudy, I do a water change about weekly or within 10 days if have too, I don’t know what else I need to do if it’s in need of a bigger filter? Or is there a product I need to buy?
Any input is welcome, thanks so much.

It sounds like a harmless bacterial bloom. It takes many months after cycling to achieve notable water parameter stability. Until then, expect things like bacteria blooms when adding new fish or feeding a little too much.
Change out 50% of the water each week. It sounds like a chore, but it will increase the likelihood of a sustained healthy
Tank.
Your filtration is adequate but an Aqua Clear 110 would be a good upgrade.
Welcome to the forum.

Have some stock issues. So you want some advice?

Be sure to transfer the media from the old filter when you do so!
Since you have some nitrites, I'd bet a bacterial bloom as well, not harmful to the fish, and it should go away relatively soon.
However, as DuaneV said, there are some stocking concerns if you want to address those.

Your Bala Sharks, Clown Loaches and Pleco are all WAY too big for a 60 gallon.

Bala Sharks & Clown Loaches get 12-16 inches. They are very active schoaling and schooling fish and require a HUGE tank to keep a group together. Both really need a minimum of 150 gallons but a 220 would be even better.

Your Common Pleco should reach 2 feet and needs a massive tank too.

Even just one of any of these fish is too much for a 60 gallon, let alone having all of them and the fact that the Clowns and Balas need to be in a school. As they get bigger they will become stunted, have serious health issues and there's no way you'll be able to keep up with the mess they all make. Id try to rehome them now before the situation gets really bad. You're going to be dealing with sick fish, constant ammonia and nitrates, etc. It will be a losing battle with those 3 species in a 60 gallon.

The Dwarf Gouramis being kept together is a bad idea too. They are very aggressive towards each other and I wouldnt keep a pair in a 60 gallon unless it was so heavily planted you couldnt see through it. And even then you still might have problems with just 2.

Not trying to get you down, just trying to be informative and let you know what you're in for.
