After wanting fish and putting the wrong tank mates together I'm changing everything. After losing my dragon fish I'm mad and I want to do better. So some fish have to go and others are increasing in numbers I'm getting two more fan tails and another angelfish and my serpae tetra and glow fish are gone and I'm doing live plants

It's nice to hear that you're doing the best for your fish

We can help you with stocking if you'd like! It sounds like you have some stocking issues, and we can help you fix them if you're interested.

Fantail goldfish? They're not temperature compatible with any of your other fish and should not be kept with them.

You can rehome all of those other fish and keep just the two goldies or you'll have to rehome them if you want to keep your other fish.

You have some issues with your other stock as well. In this size tank, I wouldn't keep more than one angel if you want to keep other fish. However, angelfish are not temperature compatible with the glofish (what kind are they, by the way? angelfish aren't temp compatible with the glo danios, skirt tetra, or tiger barbs), and it's not recommended to keep Serpae tetra with angelfish as Serpaes are very nippy.

You'll have to rehome fish regardless, it just depends on what fish is most important to you. What's your favorite fish? We can help you stock around that.

I want my angelfish and skirt tetras the serpae and glow fish I'm getting rid of

The skirt tetras aren't temperature compatible with the angelfish, so you'll need to choose one or the other for their health.

Ok I'll keep my angel but get more what could I put with him or them for that matter I want a good functioning tank and nothing that's going to have me stressed out when things go wrong

My glow fish are tetras

So skirt tetras? You'll need to rehome them with the others if you want the angel then.

What size bigger tank are you getting?

What kind of lighting do you have? That'll affect what plants are suitable.

I'm looking for a 75 gal and I just got the lighting that came with the tank when purchased haven't changed the bulb but will for my plant life

A 75 gal isn't big enough for the common pleco either. I would rehome him or return him when you return the other fish.

Java fern and Anubias will likely be fine in your tank.

Common plecos get massive 75 gallons is not big enough.

I agree java fern and anubias would probably work. Maybe Java moss or moss balls?

My pleco is small at this time so I have some time for him and I plan to adjust to his size

If you keep him in too small of tanks until he outgrows them, he won't grow properly. He'll become stunted. This is why it's best to keep them in a properly sized tank from the beginning. Don't forget you still need a large tank for you brackish dragon fish, and they can't go in the same tank.

I also went and bought some books with the money I got back from my dragon fish and molly that died I also went to Home Depot and got pvc pipes for my dragon for shelter

What would you recommend for that tank I thought about puffer fish but they are aggressive fish and I don't want him attaching my dragon but I'm not familiar with brackish water or the fish for that matter this is a whole new lesson for me but I'm up for it

I was just looking on aquarium fish about there dragon fish there sale. They have bad information on them but they list for tank mates angel fish, mollies, sword tails, corydoras, and silver dollars I didn't know angelfish were brackish?

Cories and angelfish are definitely not brackish. Mollies might work though but idk.
