Hi, everyone. I had a pair of German blue rams, and the male recently died. Should I get a companion for the female? Either a male or even just another female?

I have a 29 gallon planted tank with CO2 injection. In this tank I also have six sterbaI cories and seven Gertrude rainbows. I’m waiting for the plants to grow a little more before adding more rainbows.

Thanks for your help!

Shannon

If it was me, I would try to find another male and see if they pair up. But in saying that, it should be fine solo.

I like having her on her own because she isn’t anywhere near as aggressive/territorial as the male was. At the same time, I don’t want to think of her being lonely. If you thinks she’s fine, then I’ll leave her on her own. Thanks!
