I have 6 common guppies and one died and another guppy tends to pick at it

u should take it out so the guppies don't pick at it...lol...its not good to leave a dead fish in a tank

how did it die?!! well, I don't think guppies will eat it completely, u better take it out immediately before it spreads diseases. what is the ratio of males and females? how big is your tank?

Yeah you don't want to let it rot because of the potential for diseases

I took it out before I even started this thread and I was concerned about why it was picking on it's own kind. I would never leave dead fish in a tank lol

They see it as possible food or trying to see if its still alive. Its normal to pick on their own

Guppies do like their own babies. Someone I knew had a guppy that as soon as she gave birth, she would be eating the babies as they tried to get to the top of the tank!
