I have a newly cycled 5 gallon quarantine tank. It's been running for about 2 months now. 12 days ago I bought 6 guppies from a LFS. 4 females and 2 males. The next day I noticed a white saddle on one of my guppies, the next day ot professed to having lesions on it and she died a few days later. I had no idea what happened but figured the stress of a new tank and a male that I saw aggressively trying to mate with her was to blame.
Since then, I have lost 2 more fish with today being the most recent . Neither of these fish that died showed any signs.
BUT today I saw another one of my remaining 3 guppies has the dreaded saddle white patch.
I had been doing water changes every other day because of ammonia spikes, but all other levels have been normal.
Also, 3 days ago I started dosing a trio of meds suggested.
What do I do, I've been searching the internet and I'm so confused.
Also, does this mean that my QT tank is always going to have this bacteria in it now and there's nothing I can do? If somehow my other 2 guppies survive by some miracle, will putting them in my display tank make my display tank always have it? Currently, display tank is a 45g with nothing in it.
:'( any help would be appreciated
