Color changes??

So here's the background info, I got my black and white striped angelfish about a month ago. 2 weeks ago, I got another angel fish, she is a marble/golden (yellow on her forehead area).

Today I came home from school to see that my black and white striped angelfish had acquired a tint of yellow on his forehead that I have never seen before...and it's one of three things (I think..).

1. I got a new light about a week ago and its a lot more powerful and bright then my other one. I know fish change colors according to their environment and I think this might be the case.

2. He may have always had the color and since I got the new light, new plants, and redecorated my tank, he may be happier and his colors are showing more intensely.

3. Somehow, (I don't know if this is even possible) could the colors from my marble/golden angelfish affected him in anyway? (I know this is not likely but I have heard it, it being color fusion, happening in corals which are live and thought maybe it could happen with fish too...sorry if this is really insane sounding, I'm just curious.)

If anyone knows could you please explain?

Thanks in advance!

It could be the light - I notice blue and green colouration on my silver angel when I look at him under certain levels of light.

I also wonder if it's a mating thing? Maybe the introduction of a new angel has triggered a spawning or aggression response. Or he is stressed from all the change....

Do you know the approximate age of the fish- is it young? If so, it could be coming into it's colors. I have a fish like this and it's beautiful.

It could also be the diet you are giving the fish is bringing color out. Your doing pretty good it sounds like.

Ok
whatever it is it's good it sounds like. I do vary its diet and I noticed with my GBR's that under certain lighting conditions it is a lot more colorful.

It isn't aggression because no body has fought in my tank. I do wonder if it could be mating....

He isn't an adult but hes not really young...I guess it could be his colors because he was in the small section of angels.

Thanks for the help!!

Ok so it sounds like he is coming into his/her colors and is happy. It's going to be a beautiful adult fish and could be starting to get into breeding habits.

I noticed my GBR changes with the light as well- light hits them differently.

Just keep feeding what you are to the angels and it sounds like you will see some brilliant color.

soccerstar6 You said you have an angel with black and white stripe? Well they are called as tuxedo angels, These angels are known to change their colors. Do not worry, you are taking good care of it, since there is yellow color on his forehead. For angels yellow color over their forehead is a like a kings and queens crown over their head.
