Clown pleco male or female?

    It is very difficult to tell sexes of Pleco in my opinion. Sorry j can't help Maybe Plecomaker can help you?

    If you look at your clown from above, if you can see the spikes on the side it's a male if no spikes it's a female

    Looks male, but im not positive.
    Females are rounder around the vent and dont have odontodes i believe.
    again not positive.

    Thanks everyone... I think I have come to the conclusion he might be a she as it's very smooth and have never noticed any spikes down its sides when I have had it out the tank. So I'm wavering more towards a girl

    Could be, keep in mind that odontodes grow with age, so depending on he/shes age they might not be done developing.
